Product overview
Virnig Skid Steer Cold Planer Attachment
Description
Take on pavement repairs with a cold planer that lets you set the cut rather than work around it. The Virnig Cold Planer mills asphalt and concrete, with hydraulic side shift and tilt to position the drum along edges and changing grades.
Independent side plates help you control the planer as the surface changes. An in-cab control cycles through five hydraulic functions, while a visible control module shows which function is active. Choose the cutting width, picks and loader-compatible electrical control for your work, then add a water system if needed.
Features
- Five selectable hydraulic functions: tilt, side shift, left plate, right plate and both plates together.
- In-cab controls cycle between functions; the control module indicates the active function.
- Up to 6 inches of cutting depth, with model-specific tilt and hydraulic requirements shown in the specifications.
- Outer drum picks help provide feedback when working alongside concrete edges; operator care is still required.
- Configured picks, couplers and 3/4-inch hoses. One compatible electrical control must be selected.
Configure your planer
Choose the cut width, a loader-compatible controller and pick type. Factory concrete picks replace the asphalt picks rather than adding a second set. Choose the installed pick option appropriate for the material being milled.
The optional PLRWK 55-gallon internal tank includes the spray system. Supplier estimates roughly 30-60 minutes of spraying depending on width and settings; this is not a guaranteed run time. The separate water-spray upsell is for a loader-mounted water supply and requires a pump; it is not gravity fed. Do not add a separate spray system when selecting the internal tank.
Loader and controller compatibility
Select the compatible controller and verify the loader hydraulic specifications. Minimum flow depends on operating pressure and planer width; maximum is 50 GPM at 4,500 PSI. The 48-inch model has no published 3,000 PSI minimum-flow rating. John Deere loaders built before 2021 may require pin modification. Cat D/D2 and D3/current controllers differ; JCB requires its dedicated PLR controller. Accessory-power kits include a magnetic switch box; battery-power kits do not include a battery.
What's Included?
- Cold planer in the selected width with the selected factory-installed picks.
- Couplers, 3/4-inch hoses and the selected compatible electrical control.
- The internal tank and spray system are included only when that option is selected.
Published weights are approximate attachment weights, or the published empty internal-tank configuration when selected. Separate controller and installed-pick weight differences are not included. Account for water and all installed equipment when checking loader capacity.
