What Happened to Free Shipping!?
"Free Shipping" generally means that the shipping cost is estimated and built into the price of a product. It's never really free - you're seeing it added into the original price rather than at the checkout page. Our new policy is designed to provide lower and more accurate rates, more options, and faster delivery.
Understanding Our New Shipping Policy
-
We have lowered our up front prices significantly to offset the shipping charge that will be added at checkout.
-
We have negotiated with our carriers (ODFL, USPS, and FedEx) to get the lowest possible shipping rates, to keep costs as low as possible for customers. In most cases your total price now will actually be lower than it was with the "free shipping" model. You won't be charged an estimated shipping price, you'll be paying an accurate, low rate.
-
Shipping prices can be instantly calculated for any product and address within the lower 48 states. Contact us for rapidly generated quotes for shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and elsewhere.
-
You can avoid remote access fees with ODFL Service Centers or by shipping to a non remote access zip code (details below).
-
Complimentary lift gate service on all freight shipments.
All sale prices are in US Dollars.
Transactions shipped within Washington State are subject to Washington State Sales Tax. Items picked up at our warehouse are also subject to Washington State Sales Tax, unless you are from a state that does not charge sales tax.
Freight Damages and Lost Shipments
We rely on timely, accurate and secure shipping on a daily basis, and as such, have partnered with shipping carriers that we trust to do the job right.
In the rare case of receiving an item that has been damaged during transit, it is your responsibility to note any and all damage on the Bill of Landing (BOL), upon delivery. You will also be responsible for filing a freight claim with the carrier. For our part, we will do everything we can to be an advocate on your behalf, and assist in negotiating with the carrier to remedy the situation.
In the equally rare case of a lost shipment, please notify us if you have not received your order in a timely manner. We stock the majority of items we advertise and sell, and pride ourselves on prompt, accurate shipments. If your order has been lost in transit, we will work with the carrier to find it. Please give us up to two weeks to notify the carrier of the issue and to locate your order. If after exhausting all avenues, and verifying with the carrier that your order is indeed lost, we will ship an additional item to you at no cost.
Canadian Shipping
At Skid Steer Solutions, we know Canada. Our owner was born and raised in Vancouver, with many of our original products being built in Surrey, BC. We make it a priority to offer fast and cost-effective shipping solutions to our Canadian customers.
With that being said, there are still a number of important things to consider when shipping to Canada. This page will help you understand:
- Pricing
- Shipping locations
- Exchange rates
- Brokerage
- Duties
- How to save money
Shipping to Canada with Skid Steer Solutions
We do everything we can to minimize your costs when shipping to Canada, and to select the most cost-effective shipping carrier to your location.
All shipments to Canada will require a signature upon receipt.
Typically, USPS is best shipping choice when it comes to reducing brokerage charges. If USPS is not available, we will use UPS. If UPS is not available, we will use Fed-Ex. Larger shipments will travel by R&L Carriers or ODFL, depending on your address.
Base Shipping Charges cover shipping to a business address or a freight depot. It is not for home delivery with lift gate services. If you require unique shipping services, please let us know, and we will hold your order and get back to you with an appropriate quote. Farms and construction sites that require special shipping services will also be quoted and billed separately prior to shipment.
Our rates are set-up to offer a quote for delivery to a major metropolitan city in your province. We are unable to provide quotes to smaller and more remote locations. When you finalize your order, you will be sent a separate email explaining which city we are able to ship to at the price quoted. You can then arrange for delivery to a business in that city, or pick-up yourself. If you would like to have an item shipped closer to you, we will contact a Canadian shipper to handle the end-of-the-line logistics and additional costs will most likely incur.
Canadian Shipping Details
All sale prices are in US Dollars.
We do not charge any taxes for out-of-state transactions shipped outside of Washington State.
Transactions shipped within Washington State are subject to Washington State Sales Tax.
Items picked up at our warehouse are also subject to Washington State Sales Tax, unless you are from a state or province that does not charge sales tax. If you are from BC, only items shipped across the border are able to avoid Sales Tax.
When importing the items, you will be responsible for GST, PST, and any other costs outside of the original charge of the sale with Skid Steer Solutions. We cannot be held responsible for charges that occur once the items leave our facility.
How to Save Money
We have a long history of shipping products to Canada. Given our experience, here is our suggestion on the most cost-effective method for Canadians:
- Ship your item(s) to a US address close to the border
- Pick the item(s) up on the US side
- Import the items yourself using your personal exemptions and informal entry
- Have the items shipped in bond and self-clear them
- You will be required to fill out the Skid Steer Solutions Canada Customs form yourself
If this is a solution you are interested in. Feel free to get in touch with any questions or for further details.
Drop Ship Locations in the USA for Canadian Pick-Up
In order to offer our Canadian customers a cost saving solution, we have partnered with two pick-up locations near the border on the US side. This allows you to come down, pick up your items, and then import the items yourself. This will help you save money on brokerage and shipping charges.
Please note that these locations charge fees for storage and pick-up. Please contact your pick-up location for further details and information.

Payment from Canadian Customers
We accept all major credit cards as well as bank-to-bank wire transfers. We are not responsible for any credit card fees or fees associated with out-of-country purchases.
If you are unsure of the exchange rate or fees you may be charged by your bank for an out-of-country transaction, we recommended you consult with your bank before finalizing any purchase.
We do not accept out-of-country purchase orders or checks unless they are certified and drawn on a US bank.
We are unable to offer credit or terms on Canadian purchases. Once a product is shipped across the border we are unable to retrieve the shipment in the event of non-payment.
Brokerage
When you export goods from the US to Canada, you are required to use a broker. The broker will manage the collection of all duties and taxes. When you purchase from Skid Steer Solutions, you are paying only for the item(s) in your order as well as shipping. Your broker will collect any taxes and/or duties as well as an additional brokerage fee. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult with your broker before finalizing your purchase.
You are not required to use a broker if you pick-up the goods in the US and enter Canada with the items in your personal possession. Canadian citizens can make an informal entry and pay taxes and duties personally without using a broker. The invoice must be in your personal name and this does not apply to products imported under your business name.
Duties
The majority of our attachments are made in the US or Canada. Skid Steer Solutions has a NAFTA certificate in place, allowing our customers to bring attachments across the border duty free. Attachments that qualify as farm attachments are also except from duty charges. If you have any questions, please contact us before purchasing.
Sale Prices in US Dollars
Please note that all pricing advertised and displayed on Skid Steer Solutions is in US Dollars. For Canadian customers, these prices should be used for estimating the final cost of your purchase in Canadian Dollars, as exchange rates will apply. The financial institution you use to send payment may charge you at varied rates depending on their policies and the time of your transaction. We do not accept cancellations because of a customer’s dissatisfaction with the exchange rates.
International Shipping
In many cases, we do offer International Shipping. Due to the complicated nature of these shipments, we ask that you please place your order over the phone at 1-866-966-2538 and discuss the details with one of our customer service representatives. Our Returns Policy and Warranty Policy do not apply to International Shipments.
