The result of all this selection? If you're interested in the semi-unique 5 foot length for your auger bit, you'll be sure to find a combination of options that suits your auger drive, job demands, and budget. Read on to examine a few key details of our 5 Foot Auger Bits.
Advantages of 5 Foot Auger Bits
There's not a lot of complications when it comes to this section. What's the main advantage of a 5 foot auger bit when compared to the standard 4 foot auger bit length? You can drill deeper! With a bigger bit, you'll want to keep an eye on the power output of your machine and make sure you're experiencing the proper torque for ideal earth drilling, but given a powerful enough machine, combining your auger attachment with a longer bit is going to give you some serious earth drilling capabilities. This will be ideal for longer fence posts and anything else you need to get deeper into the ground. Basketball hoops, light poles, concrete footings, what else are you looking to install? For the jobs that requite a deeper drill and a more secure footing, a 5 foot auger bit attached to your skid steer auger will do the trick.
5 Foot Auger Bit Models, Diameters and Collar Sizes
Just because you're in the market for a unique auger bit length, doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on selection. Our McMillen 5 foot auger bits are available in many different options, diameters and collar sizes. McMillen has two grades when it comes to Auger Bits, their HDC and HDF models. HDC is the Heavy-Duty option, ready for difficult ground conditions such as compacted soil and clay, asphalt, frozen ground and even fracturable rock. HDF is a medium-duty auger bit, less expensive, and capable of earth drilling in light-to-moderate ground conditions. Both options feature heavy-duty double flighting as well as a hardened fishtail point. You can select either an HDF or HDC auger bit 5 foot in length with a diameter of 6" all the way up to 36". If that variety isn't enough, we also offer these 5 foot auger bits with three different collar sizes to match your drive. Here is a list of the collar sizes available.
