Powered by reliable Permco gear drive motors, renowned for their durability, the EX-Series flail spins at an impressive 1900-2300 RPM, allowing for finer cutting and leaving a professional finish behind.

The electronically balanced cutting shaft ensures a smooth spin-up and efficient cutting, even as low as 1.5" off the ground. Featuring 20 Y-Knife flail blades, each weighing 2 ¼ lbs, lined along the electronically balanced shaft, the mower safely cuts and mulches materials up to 4-5 inches in diameter. With careful and patient operation, it can handle 6" materials as well.

Designed with a curve-formed housing, the EX-40 maximizes cutting capacity and optimal mulching by the free-swinging blades. This innovative design allows materials to move through the housing without any concerns about buildup. The durability of the mower is further enhanced by its composition of A572 Grade 50 High Strength Steel and AR400 skid shoes, protecting the frame during ground mowing.

For enhanced operator comfort, the EX-40 is equipped with a rubber vibration dampener, effectively absorbing and minimizing vibrations generated during operation. With a tip speed of 12,743 Feet/Min, this attachment is fully compatible with excavators, making it the go-to-choice for efficient and professional land clearing projects.

Note:  Every excavator is different.  Many machines (Especially older models) use only two pumps.  One to control your stick and rotation.  One for track drive and auxiliary flow (your mower).  For machines that have this type of pump arrangement, it is not possible to drive the machine forward and cut at the same time.  You will need to drive forward, stop and then sweep back and forth for cutting.  For operators with newer machines like Kubota and any Yanmar, you have three pumps so you can drive and cut at the same time.
